Outside, clouds are rolling in and the intense heat of today has finally softened, giving way to a cool breeze. This was the sunset for our evening walk, and I was so thankful for it – to be here, now, in this moment. Today’s prompt ‘bookshelf’ made me think about my reading habits.
Like anyone else, I have my little escapes…things to take my mind off everyday life, stress, whatever…movies are a big one, books are another. My choices seem to gravitate towards transformation, travel, self-discovery, with a few love stories thrown in for good measure. While intoxicating and beautiful, I have found myself wanting to be ‘here’ more, if that makes any sense. I’ve fought so many battles in my life to create the ‘here’ that I have, perhaps more appreciation for now would be a good thing.
My bookshelves are a smattering of everything…books, pictures I love, artwork that I’ve collected over the years. I don’t really have a system for putting my books up – have you seen some of those color-coded libraries (wow!) – but I can find anything as long as it actually made it to a shelf. The books on my table and the ones stacked on the floor are another story altogether.
How do you organize your books?
